Fabrics of Life

(This outline is appropriate for any type of ladies meeting.)
The meeting may be
started by having a fashion show using unique fashions created by the
well-dressed church lady. This skit can
be found on my party planning page entitled Fashion Show.
You will need a skirt,
blouse, scarf and hat to represent items in the following verse. Each article of clothing should have a signed
pinned on it with the corresponding word.)
I.
Read scripture:
“Then adorn yourself with glory
and splendor, and clothe yourself in
honor and majesty.” Job 40:10 NIV
II.
Words and their definitions:
a.
Majesty (skirt) – Greatness and dignity
b.
Honor (blouse) – Good name; reputation; high
respect
c.
Splendor (scarf) – Luster or brilliance
d.
Glory (hat) – Great honor; praise
III.
Read scripture:
“For it is written: Be holy, because I am holy.” I Peter 1:16
IV.
Ask: “Have
you ever had trouble with this verse?
a.
Holy means “set apart”.
b.
One person said, “I don’t want to be set
apart. It sounds like being in
quarantine for having a constant case of measles.”
c.
Holiness does not bring isolation but integration.
d.
With Christ in you, his character becomes a part of
you so that his nature may be expressed through you.
e.
Christlikeness will come out of you naturally.
f.
God calls you holy.

others and in our families.
